Ray and I routed the new cables from the engine to the center console on Sept. 11 2015
Ray and I had to enlarge the console cutout to fit the new controller.
Ray evaluates what needs to be done to connect the control cables to the new controller. The bracket for the controller can be seen above and to the left of Ray.
The new cables have been run and the new controller has been installed. The next step is for me to wire up the gauges and Ray to repair the gas tank.
Running the new cables was easy with the center console removed. One of the hardest steps was installing the bezel where the cables enter the motor. It might have easier to install it before we connected the cables.
Robalo Repower - Ray and I ran the new cables on Sept. 11, 2015
We were hoping the new gas tank would arrive before Friday Sept. 11, 2015. A tank did arrive, but it was the wrong 1.
The picture is typical of the damage we found on all four corners of the tank where they came in contact with the straps.
Below is by far the worse of the damage. A hole about ¼ inch in diameter
Lab Metal to the rescue.
First step. Apply thick coat where the straps caused the most damage. We were filling the ¼ inch hole also.
The application was ugly….. (Those are Ray's words not mine)

The final product of Ray's had work to repair the Robalo gas tank. - Sept. 2015
We finally got the gas tank back into the Robalo. All we have to do is connect it up. Sept. 2015

We finally installed the new gas tank. While were were under the center console we found some new problems that need to be fixed.
Ray and I finally launced the boat on Sept. 28, 2015. We cruised Mashpee-Wakebee for a 2 hour break in. During the shake down cruise we found the propeller we had lost the previous Friday. Ray dove in and recovered it from about 6' of water.
The gas tank compartment isn't draining.
